Cast Aluminum Seat Foam Tool for Automotive Seating

Made from cast A356 aluminum, this tool was used to manufacture foam components for vehicle seats. The mold was completely manufactured in-house using customer-supplied CAD prints and 3D models. The foam tool was manufactured to tight tolerances of ± 0.020". In addition, a variety of testing operations, including pressure testing and CMM inspection, were performed. We produced prototype tools and production tooling of around 100 molds for each of these automotive seat foam components.
