Financial Analyst
Job Summary
Responsible for analyzing all financial aspects of the business unit to ensure achievement of its financial objectives as budgeted / forecasted. Main job focus is on analyzing sales, cost of sales, and product contribution and support the Finance in other roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product and customer profitability analysis
- Thorough understanding of major cost drivers in each product family down to the Bill of Materials level
- Price, volume, & mix analysis – by customer, market segment, product & color
- Create ad hoc reports from multiple systems (i.e. NetSuite)
- Review of Labor and Overhead Expenses
- Identify Operational Excellence saving opportunities
- Support Accounts Payable – PO/invoice/receipt match for indirect suppliers and temp labor
- Support Accounts Receivable – Billing, reporting, and collections
- Payroll backup – When necessary, assist payroll with reporting, entering, and transmitting the payroll unassisted
- Inventory DOH and DSO reporting and analysis. Specific focus on consignment management if applicable
Qualifications
- 4-year degree in accounting or equivalent experience
- 3+ years manufacturing company experience with 2+ years in a financial analyst role
- Strong MS Excel and multi-dimensional database skills
- NetSuite experience preferred
- Strong research and analysis skills
- Overtime is required during critical times (i.e. monthly closing, quarterly reviews and annual budgets)
- Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal, and organization skills
- Self-starter – ability to motive oneself and work effectively in a matrix structure with managers in remote locations
- Raises the bar for performance / drives step changes – has the ability to generate new ideas to improve processes and reporting
