According to the Universal Technical Institute in their article “FERROUS VS. NONFERROUS MATERIALS IN CNC MACHINING,” there are a wide range of materials that are able to be used in CNC machines and these are in two categories: ferrous and nonferrous metals.
“The simple definition of these is that ferrous metals contain iron (from Latin: ferrum), while nonferrous metals do not,” the Universal Technical Institute said.
