Cold drawing is a metal forming process whereby a piece of metal is forced through a single or series of dies, thereby reducing the cross section size of the original part.

The cold drawing process yields a superior strength, hardness, thin walls in tubes, impeccable surface finish, consistent dimensional tolerances, and precise bending capability. The resulting surface is clean and free from scale or other defects.

Cold drawing is typically used to produce precision aluminum rods, bars and tubes that must meet requirements;

  • a requirement for a high degree of dimensional control and/or the need for tight tolerances,
  • where the final outside diameter and/or wall thickness of the extruded tubes can only be achieved by subsequent cold drawing,
  • where the final mechanical properties for non-heat treatable alloys are to be achieved by strain hardening (drawing),
  • where special requirements exist for the microstructure of the tubes.

Aerostar has the expertise, machinery, and tooling required to make drawn products in all shapes and sizes.

To support its product requirements, Aerostar has an advanced custom product manufacturing supplier unit for the processing and production of aluminum components, with a capacity of 15,000 parts per day. The cutting, drilling, milling, and assembling of complex products are tasks which are performed at speed and with dimensional precision on modern equipment.

Assembling – In order to increase our added value as an extrusion supplier, we can also assemble the semi-finished products and components. These are mostly aluminum profiles that have been machined by us, that are then assembled with e.g. plastic parts or other metal components. Aerostar will take care of the complete process:

  • Machining the aluminum profiles
  • Purchasing of other assembly components (e.g. plastic or steel parts)
  • Assembly of parts with the extruded goods
  • Packing to custom requirements
  • Delivery, On Time, JIT, etc.

Aerostar is the easy solution to your extrusion production needs.

Aesthetics play an important role in construction. We offer a vast variety of coloring, texture, coating, and heat treat options to meet any requirement. Aluminum has the lead in this respect compared to other materials, as its color and texture pallet is unlimited.

Apart from the aesthetics, surface treatments are also responsible for the protection of aluminum profiles from the environment and day to day use. They provide all features relevant to resistance in corrosion, chipping, peeling and de-coloration.

Aerostar has been working together with our highly qualified and acknowledged partners for many years for the production of the different surface finishes on our profiles and components.

Anodizing

Anodizing is an electrolytic passivation process. During this process a thin layer of aluminum oxide is created on the outer surface of the profiles, which improves durability and appearance.

This aluminum oxide is not applied to the surface like paint or plating, but is fully integrated into the aluminum metal structure, thus it cannot chip or peel.

Benefits

  • Durability
  • Corrosion Protection
  • Electrical Isolation
  • Color Stability
  • Ease of Maintenance
  • Health and Safety

Powder Coating

Powder coating is a dry finishing process. Used as functional (protective) and decorative finishes, powder coatings are available in an almost limitless range of colors and textures, and technological advancements have resulted in excellent performance properties.

When it comes to powder coating, Aerostar offers a wide array of colors for both architectural and industrial aluminum profiles.

Benefits

  • Wide array of colors and textures
  • High quality and durable finish
  • Low friction coefficient
  • Ease of maintenance

The packing department has to preserve and protect the hard work and input of the other departments. Dedicated skilled personnel makes sure that the customer will receive the material in best conditions.

According to our customers’ requirements and each profile particularities, we provide custom solutions for packing:

  • Stability and safety during the transportation
  • Volume efficiency
  • Waste reduction

Representing the final inspection stage of the products, packing is part of our quality assurance process.
